Rattle power project rendered youth jobless: Bhandari

KISHTWAR, Dec 11: Shamsher Singh Bhandari, senior Congress leader, today expressed concern over the abandoning of work on Rattle power project by GVK company rendering hundred of unemployed youth of three hilly districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar jobless.
Bhandari was speaking during a meeting held here with the youth and prominent people of Kishtwar.
The meeting sought immediate intervention of Union Power Minister and MoS in PMO, Dr Jitender Singh asking them to impress upon the said company to start the work as its decision has rendered hundreds of youth of the area jobless.
Bhandari said that the decision will also delay the timely completion of the project that in turn will hamper the development of the State which is already facing power crises and was depended on other States for supply of power despite having lot of natural resources on its own.
The meeting among others was addressed by senior vice president, CITU, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Senior vice president, CHHPU, Nisar Ahmed Mir, senior Trade Union leader, Farooq Ahmed Tapal, Akshay Kumar, Mohd Rafiq Butt and others.
