SRINAGAR, July 18: Independent legislator from Langate constituency of frontier Kupwara district Abdul Rashid Sheikh today announced that he will hold a peaceful protest in front of Parliament from July 21 to ‘give a wakeup call to parliamentarians’ over Kashmir unrest.
Addressing a press conference here, Rashid said he along with his associates will peacefully protest in front of the Parliament and would seek justice for Kashmiris. He appealed world community to take notice of alleged atrocities on Kashmiri people and added that he will also meet envoys of various countries in New Delhi.
Rashid said Mehbooba has lost control over the situation in Valley and all affairs are being managed directly from New Delhi. “Not only that security forces have been given a free hand to kill Kashmiris by bullets, pellet guns and by continued strict curfew, but they have reduced Mehbooba Mufti to the level of a Dak-runner, as nothing is in her hands and police and other bureaucrats are receiving direct directions from Home Ministry,” he alleged.
