JAMMU, Mar 1: A man accused of kidnapping and raping a minor girl has been arrested by Bagh-e-Bahu police.
As per police sources, a minor girl hailing from Sheikh Nagar, Bahu Fort was kidnapped and raped by a youth identified as Sunny Kumar, son of Munshi Ram, a resident of Bazigar Basti, Bahu Fort.
The accused had threatened the girl of dire consequence, if she revealed the ordeal to anyone.
However, the girl mustered courage and narrated the ordeal to her mother, who lodged a complaint with police station Bagh-e-Bahu.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 21/17 under Section 363 and 376 RPC was registered at Bagh-e-Bahu police station and hunt was launched to arrest the accused.
On Specific information, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu police station conducted raid and arrested the accused rapist.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu police station Inspector Vijay Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
