RAJOURI, Jan 22: The police arrested a rape accused from Darhal area of district Rajouri today.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Shafiq, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Plangarh in Darhal. He was wanted by police since 2016 and a case FIR No. 52/ 2016 was pending against him in connection with the rape of a local girl.
The police party under the supervision of SDPO Thanna-mandi, Iftikhar Choudhary arrested the accused today from a hideout. He had gone underground since then.
