JAMMU, Nov 15: Arnia police today arrested a rape accused, who was evading his arrest for the past several months.
As per police sources, a girl, resident of Salehar lodged a complaint with police station Arnia that Vijay Kumar, son of Shamsher Chand of Jindlehar, RS Pura established physical relations with her and married her fraudulently.
“The accused was already married two times earlier and never disclosed this. He had also taken Rs 1 lakh cash from my brother”, girl stated further in her complaint.
Accordingly, a case under FIR Number 34/14 under Section 376 and 420 RPC got registered with Arnia police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
The police team from Arnia police station conducted raids at several locations and finally nabbed the accused from a hideout.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Arnia police station Inspector Jatinder Singh Samyal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Devinder Singh, SP Headquarters Randhir Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
