SAMBA, Feb 5: A rape accused who was arrested recently by Bari Brahmana Police today gave a slip to the cops on duty and fled from lock up.
Four cops including a Duty Officer, two Munshis and a Sentry were arrested and placed under suspension for dereliction of duty. The police has ordered a Departmental inquiry to ascertain the reasons behind his escape from the lockup. The police has also registered an FIR against the erring cops under relevant sections of law.
The accused has been identified as Ravi Kumar son of Prem Chand resident of Raipur Satwari. Earlier he was arrested in case FIR Number 15/2020 under Section 366 and 376 Indian Penal Code (IPC) by Bari Brahmana Police. The police has also registered another case against him today under the relevant section of law and launched a manhunt for his re-arrest, said SHO Bari Brahmana, Rajeev Jastrotia.
Police said teams led by Additional SSP Samba, Faisal Qureshi conducted raids at various places and his expected hideouts soon after the accused fled from the lock up to re-arrest him but till last reports came in there was no clue of him.
