Ranjoor remembered on his 24th anniversary

JAMMU, Mar 23: To commemorate the 24th death anniversary of comrade Abdul Sattar Ranjoor, the veteran communist leader and the founder party secretary, a meeting of the Communist party members and sympathizers was held here at party office at Shahidi Chowk.
The State secretary of the party, Abdul Rehman Tukroo who chaired the meeting paid floral tributes to the departing leader, along with others leaders and party workers.
He recalled the historic role of Ranjoor in consolidating the Kissan Movement in the State in general and Valley in particular. He went on to say that Ranjoor was a saint among the politicians, who always stood by moral values and opposed the political degradation
MK Dass struck an emotional note while describing Ranjoor Sahib’s role as a friend, philosopher and guide. Speakers while paying glowing tributes to the departed leader recalled his pioneering role in building the communist and Kissan movements in the State.
The meeting also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
