JAMMU, Oct 30: Pakistani Rangers today targeted forward BSF posts and the farmers working in their fields near Pindi Post in Arnia sector. However, no casualties or damage was reported.
Official sources said the Rangers opened firing near Pindi Post of the BSF at 12 noon today. The BSF personnel along with labourers were reportedly repairing the track and border fencing when the Rangers targeted them.
At 12.45 pm, the Rangers fired at the farmers working in their fields near Tent Guard Post. The farmers had a narrow escape in the firing that last few minutes.
The BSF didn’t retaliate as the farmers would have been trapped in the cross-firing. The farmers managed to reach to their homes safely after the firing from Pakistan side stopped.
Few days back, the Rangers had directly targeted the farmers engaged in cultivation at Chechwal in Samba sector.
