Jammu, Feb 10: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kick-started blacktopping of a road at Azad Nagar, Ward No-73 of Gandhi Nagar assembly segment.
While speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that it was a long pending demand of the local residents of Azad Nagar which was brought to his notice during his tenure as MLC and an amount of Rs. 7.5 lakh was released for the same.
Randhawa directed the executing agency to ensure quality work for longevity of the road.
Randhawa further said that it is his dream to make Gandhi Nagar a fully developed assembly segment. He said that all rural and urban areas of the Gandhi Nagar would be developed with all required infrastructure. He also sought the cooperation of the public in this regard. He urged upon the people to make judicious use of all the public properties including lanes, drains, parks etc.
On the occasion Randhawa also named the said lane after the name of Baba Zorawar Singh on the insistence of the locals.
