JAMMU, Nov 22: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today dedicated renovated building of an Ashram to the management of Hari Prabhu Ashrey, Nagrota Gujjaran of Billawar Assembly segment.
While speaking on the occasion Randhawa said that the management of this Ashram is doing a commendable job by serving the old-age and needy people which is indeed a service to mankind.
He said that during his tenure as MLC he has sanctioned funds for the renovation and upgradation of many such places which are serving the destitute. Randhawa said that the management of the Ashram had raised a demand for the renovation of the building and an amount of Rs three lakh was sanctioned from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He expressed his satisfaction that the renovation stands completed and the building is now looking safe and beautiful.
He said that many elderly people and some orphan children are living in this ashram and the management is serving God by serving them and assured them all possible help in the coming future also.
The members of the management expressed their gratitude to Ch. Vikram Randhawa for his support and release of funds for the renovation of the ashram.
Others who were present on the occasion include President I.D Soni, general secretary, Kuldeep Gupta, O.P Gupta, Sarpanch, Narayan Dutt Sharma and others.
