This refers to article “Restore lost sheen of Ranbir canal ” (Excelsior Sunday Magazine 14.04.2019). The author has given historical perspective of this canal. This is much informative and an eye opening article as the concept of swachta has been elaborated in religious context by quoting teachings of Hinduism and Islam. Authorities and public both need to wake up and initiate the cleaning process of Ranbir canal from Akhnoor onwards. Religious scholars and temple priests must ensure people desist from throwing all the garbage in this canal which is very sacred and a living example of Dogra heritage. Educational institutions and JMC also can play a great role towards clearing Ranbir canal of trash and garbage.
