JAMMU, Nov 29: National Conference provincial president Devender Singh Rana has welcomed the Government of India’s decision to sanction Baramulla-Kupwara railway line and urged the Centre to also sanction the Jammu-Poonch railway line, which is a long pending demand.
Rana told the Excelsior that Jammu-Poonch railway line via Rajouri is of vital importance for the area and has also been repeatedly announced by the BJP’s Government.
“It’s time now that the Rajouri-Poonch railway line be sanctioned as it also formed part of BJP’s poll announcements of 2014,” Rana said.
He hoped that the Centre would announce Jammu-Poonch railway line without any delay as it would be of great convenience for the people of the State.
