Rana reviews progress on development projects

POONCH, Oct 2: To review the progress of developmental works under district plan 2015-16 and to discuss issues hindering developmental process, senior National Conference leader and Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana convened a meeting of district and sub-divisional officers at Mendhar.
District Development Commissioner, Nisar Ahmed Wani, Senior Superintendent of Police, JS Johar, Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Basharat Hussain, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mendhar, Sher Singh, Superintending Engineer Hydraulics, Rayasat Khan besides Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD, PHE, I&FC, PMGSY and officers of various other departments attended the meeting.
The status of various infrastructural projects being executed by R&B, PMGSY, I&FC, PHE, PDD, Education Departments besides functioning of CA&PD, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry  were reviewed in details and the MLA exhorted upon the concerned sectoral officers to expedite the ongoing works and take up the approved works under district plan to take the developmental process ahead.
While reviewing the working of PDD and PHE, the MLA stressed for coverage of all the uncovered hamlets in the sub-division besides directing the X-En to ensure that power pilferage is proactively checked and discrepancies in the generation of electricity bills is rectified. He impressed upon the officers of PHE and PDD to establish close liaison to address the problems pertaining to supply of drinking water. The X-En PHE was asked to restore all the water supply schemes damaged during recent cloud bursts in Mendhar.
While discussing the work done liabilities of various departments, Rana asked the sectoral officers to ensure that the issue of pending liabilities does not come in the way of ongoing developmental works. He particularly asked the officers of I&FC and PHE to ensure that the important water supply schemes and Khuls do not become causality of scarce funding.
