POONCH, Aug 6: Terming basic development of border areas as top on agenda, Member legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed A Rana, today said that he has also taken up the matter of absence of telecom connectivity in border areas with Government of India.
Rana was addressing a programme held in Mankote border tehsil of Mendhar to kick start the construction work of a motorable bridge.
Lawmaker was accompanied by Executive Engineer R&B and other Engineers of department and they kick started the construction work of motorable bridge of Mankote which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore and provide benefit to more than twenty thousand souls of this area. Foundation stone of work was laid in December 2015 but start of work got delayed and after the process was followed by Rana, work has been started now.
“I know, developmental pace in this area was not upto mark in past decades due to border tension but basic and overall development of your area is on top agenda of mine and I am making all possible efforts to solve all developmental related problems here”, he said adding that many more projects will be started in the future days in the area.
Rana also informed the local population that absence of telecom connectivity is a major issue faced by them and he recently took up the matter with concerned quarters of Government of India and will further pursue the matter to find any alternate and good mean of telecom communication in the area.
Earlier, locals of the area raised several issues demanding their solution and MLA Javed Ahmed Rana alongwith officers gave patient hearing to the public voice.
