JAMMU, Aug 23: MLA Mendhar, Javed A Rana, has strongly condemned the State and Central Government for their complete failure to protect the lives and properties of innocent citizens in the border areas and demanded immediate compensation of Rs 20 lakhs to each individual and Government job to the deceased family.
While addressing a press conference at Jammu after a comprehensive tour of the entire border belt, Rana elaborated the heart breaking scene of the areas where the people are left at mercy of God and both the State and Central Governments are non-existent, non-serious and only shedding crocodile tears from distant places that too for photo sessions.
The MLA expressed his surprise that State Chief Minister has not even bothered to visit the areas and is busy with the casual and routine statements to LoC trade by deliberately ignoring the war like situation at border where innocent citizens are being killed.
He strongly condemned the Government for not establishing the health facilities to the border belt despite repeated requests for opening of health centres and moving hospitals on the border and instead the State Health Minister is seen terrorizing the para-medical staff in capital cities only.
“The crippled and non-function of education system has finally stopped its breathing and all the schools are closed that has resulted in the dis-continuation of studies of hundreds of students at various levels and the State Government is busy with non-practical approach and irrelevant statements for hollow reforms and screening tests for ReT teachers”, he added.
Rana demanded immediate construction of concrete bunkers, establishment of residential colonies at safer places out of firing range, hostel facilities for the students to continue their studies, free ration to the people and a special package to the border population to secure their future.
He also stressed for immediate purposeful dialogue between India and Pakistan to end the un-certainty.
HD Qureshi, provincial joint secretary of National Conference, was also present on the occasion.
