Ramadan moon sighted, fasting from today

Srinagar, Feb 18: The Ramadan moon has been sighted in Kashmir marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan across Jammu and Kashmir from tomorrow.

The announcement was made by Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Nasir-ul-Islam.
Soon after the sighting of the moon, Masjids across the region witnessed an overwhelming turnout of devotees who gathered in large numbers to offer special Ramadan prayers.
During, the month of Ramadan Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and hold special Ramadan prayers during the night.
