Ram Madhav, Secy Tourism call on Governor

SRINAGAR, June 12: Ram Madhav, BJP national general secretary, met Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Madhav discussed with the Governor issues related to hastening the developmental process and promoting peace and normalcy in the State. They also discussed matters pertaining to the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Rigzin Sampheal, Secretary Tourism also met Governor.
Sampheal informed the Governor about the various arrangements made by his department for enhancing the convenience and safety of pilgrims to the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra, particularly in the installation of shelter sheds at identified points along both the tracks.
Pointing to the vital importance of ensuring the growth of the tourism sector, Governor advised Sampheal to see that all tourism development projects are finalized and based on a Master Plan for the development of tourism in each of the three regions of the State. Such a Master Plan must be prepared on a time bound basis.
Governor also advised Secretary Tourism to launch well planned initiatives for the major tourist visitation areas being thoroughly cleaned, and their aesthetics and the street picture improved through façade control of the shopping and other areas visited by most tourists.
