Rally taken out against illegal dumping of garbage

JAMMU, Mar 17: Hundreds of people gathered at Kanger Morh Bhalwal and protested against illegal dumping of hazardous garbage by Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Large number of people started a rally from Kanger Morh to Bantalab and sent back the vehicles of municipality loaded with hazardous waste which is illegally being thrown at Bhalwal near Degree College Mishriwala.
“The residents living in surrounding villages near illegal garbage dumping site are protesting from more than one month but Government is not paying any heed to their genuine demand”, said Chairman, Kandi Belt Movement KD Singh.
He stated that the hundreds of ladies, students and general public are on road but Government is not bothered to even listen to the problem of local people.
Singh said this area is a residential area and dumping of garbage is in violation of rules of Pollution Control Board. He warned the administration that if dumping of garbage is not stopped then they will intensify their stir and Government would be responsible for any untoward incident.
While addressing the protesters Surinder Singh Gilli, Ex-President Yuva Rajput Sabha assured the Kandi Belt Movement for their full support to get the legitimate demand of stopping of illegal garbage dumping redressed.
Among others present were President Shopkeeper Association Bantalab Sony Manhas, Vicky Chib, Kamal Singh, Parveen Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Narinder Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Pratap Singh, Faqir Chand, etc.
