Raju discusses modalities for installation of intelligent traffic signal lights

JAMMU, Sept 1: A review meeting regarding installation of 64 intelligent traffic signal lights in Jammu approved under AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) was held under the chairmanship of Commis-sioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), M Raju.
During the course of the meeting, the JMC Commissioner directed the firm to ensure proper testing and commissioning of such 35 lights (15 new and 20 existing) well before the October 15 so that traffic police can test the operation of ATCS control efficiently in the phase manner.
He further showed his concern for not taking up the installation of traffic lights up to the required level due to slow pace of work by the firm resulting into delay for completing the project in a time bound manner. He added that it is one of the prestigious projects, as it will help to regulate the traffic of Jammu City in large manner and any delay in executing the same shall not be ignored.
The JMC Commissioner further directed the concerned agencies viz. Traffic, PWD, RTO to provide necessary support to the firm M/s DIMTS so that project is completed in time bound manner. He directed the firm to submit a work programme giving therein timeline for each day progress to be achieved up to October 15 to complete the installation work for 15 new junction and upgradation of existing 20 locations along with schedule for the junctions where road cutting is required.
The meeting was also attended by Nisha Nathyal, Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Jammu, Rajesh Sharma, Joint Commissioner, JMC, Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer, JMC, Ranjeet Singh, Secretary, JMC, Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (W), JMC, Des Raj, SE, PWD (R&B), Jammu, Neeraj Sharma, ARTO, Jammu, Surjeet Singh, Executive Engineer, (E), JMC and representatives of M/s DIMTS.
