Rajput Sabha’s concern over biased water distribution

KISHTWAR, June 30: Rajput Sabha, Kishtwar has expressed concern over huge discrepancy in distribution of drinking water to the public of Kishtwar town in specific and the peripheral area in general.
The issue was discussed during a meeting of the Sabha held here today under the chairmanship of district president of Sabha, Vijay Kumar Wazir. The speakers said that it has been categorically seen that few wards falling in Municipal Committee, Kishtwar are enjoying adequate supply of drinking water and at the same time most of the wards viz Wazir Mohalla, Bhandari Mohalla, Shan Mohalla and Parihar Mohalla are being deprived of this basic amenity.
The meeting said that despite acquainted with the facts, PHE Department has failed to streamline the distribution of water in the town. “The Sabha itself brought the matter before PHE Division, Kishtwar many times but only hollow assurances were given ad no concrete steps were taken to sort out the matter.
The Sabha members urged upon the authorities concerned to take effective steps and ensure regular supply of water in the affected areas of Kishtwar town.
