SAMBA, Jan 19: Shri Amat Kashatria Rajput Sabha, Samba has urged upon the State Governor Satya Pal Malik to implement the decision with regard to 10 % reservation for the members of weaker sections among the general categories in the J&K State.
In a meeting of the Samba unit of the Sabha held under the chairmanship of Capt (Retd) Inder Singh Sambyal here today, the members welcomed the decision of the Central Government regarding provision of 10 % quota for the poor sections amongst the general category people. They described it as historic decision and said that weaker sections amongst the upper classes shall also be able take benefit of the reservation.
Sambyal demanded that same norms and parameters be fixed for the members of the poor section among the upper classes as adopted for the SC/ST or OBC sections in the employment and professional colleges. It will help in providing them social justice. He stressed for immediate implementation of the reservation for general category people in the State.
General secretary Surjeet Singh, Jaidev Singh, Capt ( Retd) Suram Singh and Karan Singh also spoke on the occasion.
