NEW DELHI, Mar 16: Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh today released a coffee table book on the life and times of Manohar Parrikar, former Defence Minister on his first death anniversary.
Several MPs and MoS Defence and Shripad Naik were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajnath Singh lauded the great personae of Late Parrikar and said that he was a symbol of simplicity and highest integrity in public life. In his message PM Modi said Parrikar’s decisions have strengthened national security capabilities.
The book contains more than 250 rare pictures of Parrikar and special homage articles, messages from Prime Minister Modi, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Speaker Lok Sabha Om Birla, Dy Chairman Rajya Sabha, Harivansh, Cabinet Ministers Rajntah Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Hardeep Puri, P.S Rajeev Chandrasekhar as well as top brass from armed forces like Lt Gen. Satish Dua, Vice Admiral Murugesan, Air Marshal B.D Jayal, Air Marshal and former Vice Chief of Air Staff Shirish Deo.
Parrikar’s son, Utpal Parrikar has also written an emotional piece on the years with his father.
The fabulous book is published by Uttarakhand War Memorial Trust, Dehradun as Parrikar had agreed to be its founder patron.
Tarun Vijay, renowned author and former MP, who also heads the War Memorial has edited the book titled ‘Invincible’.
On March 17, Parrikar’s first death anniversary, this book will be received by the President of India in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
