SRINAGAR: Reiterating that the Centre was ready to talk to all stakeholders to resolve the Kashmir issue, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said about 55 delegations of different organisations had met him during the two-day visit.
However there is no formal invitation to anybody for any such meeting, Mr Singh said. ” I have come here with open mind and heart to talk to everybody whosoever was interested”, he said adding about 55 delegations of different organisations, including political parties, had met him during his two-day stay in Kashmir.
Talking to mediapersons before leaving for winter capital, Jammu, Mr Singh said this was his fifth visit to Jammu and Kashmir which clearly indicates how much importance the Centre gives for restoration of peace in the State.
” If I will have to visit 50 times, I will never hesitate for restoration of peace and take forwards the development”, he said.
“We want resolution of the Kashmir issue that is why we are coming here more often to meet the people”, he added. To a question, he said, ”I have made it clear time and again that we are ready to talk to anybody and everybody who wanted to talk with us for restoration of peace.
” When asked if he was ready to talk Hurriyat Conference (HC) and other separatist leaders, Mr Singh said everybody means everybody. However, to another question whether the Central Government will extend any formal invitation to separatists for talks, the Union Home Minister said there is no formal or informal talks. We welcome those who wanted to meet us, he said.
He said this visit was taken ahead of the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 that Kashmir cannot be solved with ” Goli or Gali” but ” Galay Laganay se”.
To another question about the arrest of separatists leaders Mr Singh said that if the state government has taken action against anybody ” we cannot say anything.” (AGENCIES)
