Rajnath BJP’s new Campaign chief

NEW DELHI, Sept 29: BJP president Rajnath Singh was today declared the new Campaign committee chief of the BJP for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Parliamentary Board of the party here today.
The BJP’s Parliamentary Board, which met this evening at the headquarters of the party, named Rajnath Singh as the new Campaign committee chief of the BJP, party general secretary Ananth Kumar told reporters here.
A resolution to name Mr Singh as the new Campaign committee chief was put at the meeting of the Board by BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi and was unanimously adopted by the Board, Mr Kumar said.
It is notable that BJP’s Campaign committee chief and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was anointed the party’s prime ministerial candidate on September 13 in New Delhi.
Mr Modi will now resign from the post of Campaign committee chief, for which he was anointed at the party’s executive in Goa.
The decision to name Mr Singh as Campaign committee chief came on a day when the party’s PM candidate Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in the Capital where he attacked the UPA  Government on the issue of corruption while criticising Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for publicly rejecting the Ordinance on convicted MPs.
