Rajendra to take charge on June 2

JAMMU, May 30: Director General of Police-designate K Rajendra Kumar would take charge as the state police chief on June 2 at Police Headquarters in Srinagar replacing Ashok Prasad, who has been repatriated to Centre for an important assignment in the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
Mr Rajendra, a 1984 batch IPS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre would take charge at the Police Headquarters in presence of top police officers of Jammu and Kashmir.
He had earlier also served as DGP of the State for about two months after Kuldeep Khoda had completed his tenure.
Mr Rajendra has held various prestigious postings during his tenure including IGP Jammu, Kashmir, Headquarters, Srinagar, ADGP CID, Armed, Law and Order, Prisons apart from DIG and SSP of various zones and districts. He is recipient of various medals of President and Jammu and Kashmir Government.
