JAMMU, Mar 29: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar today had a surprise visit to Akhnoor and inspected police stations and police posts there.
Mr. Rajendra, during the visit took stock of the functioning of police stations and police posts in Akhnoor Tehsil. He checked Malkhanas and police records and discussed various issues relating to the welfare of police personnel, pace of progress on CCTNS and border management.
Mr. Rajendra accompanied by Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone, Danish Rana, SP Rural Jammu, Arun Gupta and SDPO Akhnoor, Gurinderpal Singh inspected Police Station Akhnoor and Khour, Police Post Planwalla, besides Sub Division Police Office Akhnoor. He enquired about the working of police in crime eradication and maintaining law and order.
Police public relations were also reviewed by Mr. Rajendra. He interacted with the jawans and officers working in Thanas and enquired from them about the facilities available besides mess facilities. He asked them to take benefits from the welfare schemes framed by the PHQ.
Mr. Rajendra asked the field officers to be more dedicated towards professional duties and ensure safety and security of the people. He said that fight against crime is our prime duty and all available sources should be utilised to curb the activities of the criminals. People’s cooperation has been paying good dividends in making our efforts more innovative and fruitful. Quick response to the problems of the people strengthens our relations and it is the responsibility of supervisory officers to review these relations from time to time and ensure that the grievances of the people are addressed genuinely, said Mr. Rajendra.
Discussing the border management, DGP stressed for coordinated efforts with other security agencies to strengthen intelligence network to curb the anti-national activities and ensure security of the people. He said that synergy among the agencies at different levels should be reviewed randomly and input sharing ensured to take preventive measures and foil the sinister designs of such elements.
