Rajbagh police rescues 2 bovines, arrests 2 smugglers

KATHUA, Aug 4: In continuation to thwart the conspiracies of bovine smuggling from the society, District Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling attempt near NHW Rajbagh naka point; rescued two bovines, arrested two persons and seized one vehicle involved.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra SHO, PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan while on Naka checking duty near NHW Rajbagh naka noticed one suspicious vehicle Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Registration Number JK08J-9585 which was being driven by a person namely Sadaq Ali, son of Mohammad Farooq of Rakh Sarkar Palai tehsil Hiranagar who was along with his associate namely Farmaan Ali, son of Hukum Din of Garian Kalan tehsil Chenani district Udhampur.
On thorough checking, police team found two bovines which were being transported without any legal permission. Thereafter all the two bovines were rescued, two persons were arrested and the vehicle was seized. Accordingly a case FIR No. 164/2022 U/S 188/ IPC Act, 11PCA Act was registered at Police Station, Rajbagh and further investigation into this matter has been initiated.
