Rajbagh police rescues 15 bovines, seizes truck

KATHUA, Sept 26: In furtherance to tightening noose on bovine smugglers, a manhunt was launched by Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal against bovine smuggling in the district.
During the drive 15 bovines were rescued and the truck used for bovine smuggling was seized at NHW Rajbgah.
Police said today a team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra, SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan during Naka checking duty at NHW Rajbagh noticed one suspicious vehicle (Truck) bearing Registration Number JK02AT-6085 which was being driven by an unknown person. The truck was enrouted from Punjab towards Jammu.
On seeing naka party which signaled it to stop, the driver of vehicle fled away from the spot. During checking, the police team rescued 15 bovines (10 cows & 05 Oxen) from the vehicle. A case vide FIR No. 192/2022 U/S 188/IPC 11 PCA has been registered at PS Rajbagh and further investigation is going on.
