SRINAGAR, Nov 28: Senior Congress leader and Bollywood Actor, Raj Babbar, today launched frontal attack on its party ally in the State Government, National Conference, and said that it deceived his party.
While addressing election rallies in South Kashmir, Babbar said that NC deceived Congress and created hurdles in governance. “Congress was always in favour of development of the State but NC created hurdles and deceived us. The party also created hurdles in empowering panchayats. They deceived us in every respect”, he said.
The Congress leader said that it was biggest mistake of his party that they didn’t go for rotational Chief Minister in the State. “Giving the Chief Minister post to the NC for full six years was a mistake. The CM should have been from Congress or should have been on rotational basis. Our State leaders were always demanding the Congress CM. It was a mistake,” he said. “If there would have been a Congress Chief Minister the scenario of the Jammu and Kashmir would have been different”, he added.
Raj Babbar said that Congress is the only party that can serve the people of the State in a better way. “Whenever Congress got the opportunity it ensured development of people equally in all the three regions of the State. I am confident that at this critical movement, people of Kashmir will remain steadfast to fight nefarious designs of those who are a danger to their cultural identity,” he said.
The Congress leader said that his party is the only party that can ensure equitable development of people in all the three regions of the State and mitigate their sufferings of common masses. “This is the opportune time to think collectively how to remain together and how to fight their enemy”, he added.
Lashing out at BJP, the Congress leader said the party is notorious for communal mindset. “The party (BJP) is notorious for its communal mind set. BJP has proved that they are divisive but the people of Jammu and Kashmir will give a befitting reply to BJP in the election. I believe that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are slowly learning about the BJP’s dual politics”, he said.
The Congress leader claimed that Congress never tried to fool people for the sake of votes and gaining power and always tried to promote regional harmony and communal amity.
