Srinagar, June 10: Day temperature in Kashmir declined by several notches as rains continue to lash Kashmir intermittently with Meteorological Department predicting more rains in coming days.
Officials of the MeT Department said that heavy rains lashed Kashmir in wee hours today and continued intermittently till afternoon. They said that the wet weather is likely to continue in Kashmir for next one week. The MeT officials said that due to rainfall, day temperature showed decrease by several notches.
The MeT official said the maximum temperature in Srinagar was recorded 21.0 degree Celsius against the previous 26.6 while the minimum temperature settled at 12.7 degree Celsius. Qazigund, the gateway of Kashmir valley, recorded 22.6 degree Celsius maximum temperature while minimum temperature settled at 12.4 degree Celsius.
Pahalgam recorded 20.4 degree Celsius day temperature and night temperature settled at 9.8 degree Celsius. The MeT official said maximum temperature in Gulmarg was recorded 16.4 degree Celsius while the night temperature settled at 5.3 degree Celsius.
Kokernag in South Kashmir recorded 21.4 degree Celsius maximum temperature and 12.3 degree Celsius minimum temperature. The day temperature in Kupwara settled at 20.9 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature remained 10.1 degree Celsius. Leh recorded a 10.5 degree Celsius maximum temperature and the neighbouring Kargil 18.4 degree Celsius maximum temperature.
