Raina seeks Central support for J&K to combat COVID

Takes up issue with Harshvardhan, visits GMC

JAMMU, Sept 19: BJP State president, Ravinder Raina today urged the Union Health Minister, Dr Harshvardhan to provide all support and assistance to Jammu and Kashmir in fighting dreaded COVID as the situation has become alarming with the spread of the pandemic during last over one week.
Raina, who took up the issue with Union Health Minister telephonically urged him to ensure that the UT gets best health care infrastructure to meet the present challenge. He said that immediate steps needed to be taken for providing the Oxygen cylinders and the UT Health and Medical Education Department should be issued directives to have proper coordination so that the patients admitted in hospitals are not put to problems.
Earlier Raina visited GMC, Jammu and took stock of the facilities available to combat the growing menace of Pandemic.
During his tour of the GMC, he visited different wards especially those providing services for the Corona infected patients and took stock of the ground situation there.
Raina met with the Corona patients to know their grievances and other genuine issues. He assured them that they will be provided best services and their all genuine issues will be raised in front of LG, Manoj Sinha. He assured the patients and their attendants that he will soon call upon the LG, and request him to personally look into the matter. He maintained that the residents of the J&K will be provided all the best possible healthcare facilities taking prompt care of all the alleged shortcomings that may have occurred in near past.
Raina stressed that all the alleged loopholes in the treatment system will be soon taken care of ensuring the best treatment for the respected citizens of the UT. J&K residents will be provided best healthcare facilities in the fight against Corona, he said.
He also met the Hospital administration and discussed the issue with them. Raina stressed on better coordination among the hospital staff to meet the challenge.
He also appealed the citizens to strictly follow all the SOPs of Corona, issued from the Health Department from time to time like use of face masks, washing hands, use of hand sanitizers, taking the immunity boosters, maintaining social distancing etc.
