MENDHAR, Feb 27: The administration and the Rural Development Department (RDD) and local Sarpanch of Gohlad (Lower) have failed to divert the rain water of the Mendhar market in spite of repeated requests and hue and cry by the people and Beopar Mandal.
Prominent people of the town said that there was heavy rain last night resulting into water logging which caused great damage to the shopkeepers. There is strong resentment among the business community.
The incessant rains worsened the situation as most of the roads in the town were inundated causing great inconvenience to the common people. The drainage blocked led to water logging and inundation of the town. Sitish Chander Sharma, Happy Kazmi and Suffiaz Khan, said that the rain water from residential and non-residential areas of town clogged here in the market and entered their shops. People sought intervention of DC Poonch.
