JAMMU, July 28: A railway employee was today found dead in a nullah in Sector -1 A of Channi Himmat area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, an unknown body was this morning spotted by some locals in a nullah in Sector-1 A of Channi Himmat near cremation ground. They informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification and postmortem.
Later the body was identified to be of a railway employee namely Ashok Kumar Sharma son of Dhani Ram Sharma, a resident of Jourian in Akhnoor Tehsil. The deceased was presently living at Narwal near Shiv Shakti Mandir.
According to the reports, the man was a habitually drunkard and perhaps in inebriated condition he was washed away in the nullah, which over flooded due to heavy rains late last night.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Channi Himmat and further investigations are on.
