Rail service remains suspended in Kashmir for security reasons

SRINAGAR :  All rail services remained suspended for the second day today for security reasons in the Kashmir valley, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally at S K cricket stadium today.
The rail service from Srinagar-Badgam-Baramulla in north Kashmir and Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region will remain suspended today also, a railway official told.
He said in view of the Prime Minister’s visit, it was decided to suspend all trains in the valley.
This is the third time during the past one month that rail service in the Kashmir valley was suspended for security reasons.
In the past, railways suffered damage to property worth crores of rupees during demonstrations in the valley.     (UNI)
