NEW DELHI: After a Railway Protection Force employee was found COVID positive at the Rail Bhawan, the Indian Railway headquarters has been sealed for two days.
According to the Railway Ministry official sources, the decision was taken on Wednesday night that the Rail Bhawan will remain shut on Thursday and Friday.
Saturday Sunday being holidays, the Rail headquarters will re-open on Monday.
According to sources, the decision was taken after a RPF employee tested positive for COVID at the office on the fourth floor of the building.
The entire building will be sanitised on Thursday and Friday and meanwhile, around eight employees from the fourth floor office, who had come in contact with the infected employee, have been asked to go on home quarantine.
Meanwhile, in the past three to four days , other buildings in the Lutyens such as the Shakti Bhawan and the Air India head office were also shut in a similar fashion after one of the employees attending work at these places were found to be COVID positive.
These buildings were also being properly sanitised and all SOPs and protocols were being followed.
Rail Bhawan is the third such building to be reportedly sealed in the Lutyens. (agencies)
