JAMMU, Dec 17: Lambasting the Congress and its chief for launching a misinformation campaign on Rafale deal against Narendra Modi Government, BJP today demanded that Congress chief should quit his Lok Sabha seat after the verdict of Supreme Court on the issue which said that the deal was totally transparent.
Rahul Gandhi must resign from his post for misleading the people of country on Rafale deal, BJP national vice-president & Prabhari for Jammu & Kashmir State, Avinash Rai Khanna, told reporters here, along with BJP State president, Ravinder Raina , party general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh and spokesperson, Dr. Tahir Choudhary.  Click here to watch video
He said that what Congress party and its president said was nothing but a bunch of lies and it reveals that Congress is adept in telling lies and misleading public opinion. He said that Supreme Court of India has given clear judgement on the Rafale case even about its price. The Court has cleared that the deal was totally transparent. Khanna also outrightly rejected all the allegations put forth by opposition parties and accused the Congress of launching a vicious campaign against Government for its vested political interests.
He also criticised the Congress for running away from healthy discussions in Parliament which has 850 members and instead demanding JPC probe through 30 members. He said even Congress continues its malicious campaign after the SC verdict on Rafle issue against BJP which is unfortunate.
Khanna while justifying the deal said that the neighbouring countries China and Pakistan had acquired much powerful aircrafts while India was lagging behind so the deal was signed to equip the Indian Air Force with more powerful aircrafts by Modi Government which Congress delayed earlier.
This is an International issue and not just a domestic or private issue so they must not try to fiddle with such issues, Khanna said, adding this was the need of Indian Airforce which was taken at the top priority by the BJP led NDA government.
Khanna also showed his total satisfaction over the sentence granted to those who were responsible for anti Sikh riots of 1984. He said it was the demand of the people that the culprits involved in the riots be punished.
While justifying the killing of terrorists by the security forces, Khanna said no let up will be shown by the Government in this regard. He, while speaking on killing of civilians in Pulwama said that those working as over ground workers of terrorists deserve the same treatment as terrorists.
Meanwhile, BJP district, Kathua sent a memorandum to president of India, Ram Nath Kovind stating that the Congress was misleading the nation of Rafale deal. The memorandum while justifying the deal was signed by district president, Prem Nath Dogra.
