JAMMU, Mar 1: Congress president Rahul Gandhi reviewed the post -Pulwama situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, in a meeting of senior leaders from J&K held at the Union capital last evening.
AICC president, who was accompanied by Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad and AICC general secretary Ambika Soni (MP), Incharge J&K affairs of the party, took feedback from the Pradesh Congress leaders’ delegation led by PCC chief, G A Mir and expressed concern over the situation along borders.
Gandhi took stock of entire scenario all along the International Border and the Line of Control and security scenario in the State. Many important issues were also discussed in the meeting. The party leaders also had detailed discussion over the ways and means to be adopted to strengthen the party at grass root level in the State.
The senior AICC leaders asked the PCC functionaries to reach out to the masses and especially to the border dwellers and render helping hand to them. Expressing party resolve to fully support the Indian Government at this hour, the Congress leaders said the country was one on the issue and asked the cadre to gear up their activities and remain vigilant from the designs of divisive forces.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included JKPCC president GA Mir, former PCC chief Prof Saifuddin Soz, Peerzada Mohd Sayeed ( Ex-PCC chief), Ex-CLP Leader Rigzin Jora, CWC Member Tariq Hamid Kara, ex-Dy CLP Leader Aijaz Ahmed Khan, ex-Dy CM Tara Chand, PCC vice presidents Raman Bhalla, GM Saroori, former Ministers Sham Lal Sharma, Asgar Ali Karbalai, Vikar Rasool, Shabir Ahmed Khan and Manjit Singh.
