JAMMU, Jan 17: Rahul Gandhi must come clear on grave mistakes done by Congress in relation to Jammu & Kashmir before leading “Bharat Jodo Yatra” to J&K, said Sunil Sethi, chief spokesperson of JK BJP.
Sunil Sethi accompanied by J&K BJP office secretary Tilak Raj Gupta and J&K BJP media secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra at a press conference raised burning questions on “Congress’s intention in its “Bharat Jodo Yatra” which is about to enter J&K.
Sunil Sethi asked “When Maharaja of J&K was willing for accession in June-July 1947, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru resisted in order to allot a greater role to Sheikh Abdullah and deliberately tried to sideline Maharaja,. “Indian forces were successfully marching ahead on the occupied lands; why Pt. Nehru took the matter to the UN stopping the triumphant Indian forces’’, Sethi questioned?.
“Why Pt. Nehru raised the issue of plebiscite? Nehru’s decision to declare J&K’s accession to be “provisional” led to the birth of Article 370’’, he said.
He said Congress should also answer the question that “Upon the defeat of Pakistan in war, Indira Gandhi released 90,000 soldiers but did not ask for release of occupied lands of PoJK,. In the 1971 war there was grave injustice done to the Chamb displaced’’, he added.
“Moreover why there was no State Subject of West Pakistan refugees’’, he asked?.
Rahul should answer the Valmiki Samaj who could not apply for jobs other than Safai Karamcharis. He should answer the Gorkha Samaj and those women who were denied rights.
Former PM Rajiv Gandhi made the accord, which forcibly put the NC Government at the powerhouse in J&K and subsequent rigging of elections, which led to the start of displacement of Kashmiri Pandits, Sethi said.
Kashmir displaced people are also questioning Congress for their negative role in probably the world’s largest internal displacement.
Another question is that today the Gupkar gang is supporting Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Gupkar gang is supporting talks with China and Pakistan on J&K. Does Congress support it?
Pakistan is continually sending terrorists like Kasab, should we talk to that nation which is promoting terrorism in India.
Rahul must clear his stand that whether he stands for the unity of India or he is more interested in supporting the persons longing to divide India.
After 2019, now peace is prevalent more than ever.
BJP understands that Congress wants to divide the nation on the name of region, religion and sentiments so that Congress and Gupkar gang could reap benefits out of the turmoil.
Sethi added that when Rahul Gandhi enters Jammu & Kashmir, he must bow down at the feet of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to thank him that he is entering the region without first applying for Permit.
