THANNAMANDI, Nov 25: NSS unit of Government Degree College, Thannamandi on concluding day of celebrating Quami Ekta Week organized a symposium on the topic” Role of youth in promoting National Integration’’ here today.
Eleven participants took part in the symposium .The participants highlighted the importance of communal harmony national integration and brotherhood in the country having diverse religion and culture. Principal of the College who was the chief guest on the occasion appreciated the efforts of NSS unit of the College for organizing such Programmes and also highlighted the role of National integration.
Prof A R Qadri also Spoke on the occasion. Shabina Magray, Farhad Afzal Mir, Mevish Shakoor, bagged Ist, 2nd and 3rd Positions respectively while as consolation prizes were shared by Afsana Anjum, Menaz Koser,and Arfat Anjum.
The judges for the programe were Prof Junaid (HoD EVS), Sawan Kumar Lecture in English and Gohar Iqbal Lecture in Arabic.
Earlier the programme started with citation of few verses of Holy Quran by Abdul Raouf student of BSc 2nd year. The programme officer NSS Prof Saleem Ayaz Rather (HoD Zoology) presented the welcome address.
The programme was conducted by Rahat Jabeen NSS volunteer of the college, while as the vote of thanks was presented by Gohar Aarzoo Chand NSS volunteer and a student of BSc 2nd year.
