People often raise fingers against the present educational system, prevailing in the country. Comparison between private and public schools has become a matter of concern in the present scenario concerning the system. Are not our teachers responsible so far as the deterioration of the system is concerned ? Doesn’t our educational system lack teachers of integrity, efficiency and dedication ? The department also lacks teaching technologies and monitoring mechanism. The present teacher teaches the future with past knowledge in teaching technique. A look at our teaching system will show you a rather universal approach. Right from kindergarten to postgraduation, the approach is the same. We deliver as teachers and they listen as students.
Capturing the essence of quality education lies in capturing research focussed on the process of how to facilitate a behavioural change in a student on the basis of the education that the teachers are supposed to provide. The confusion about our understanding about education as mere transfer of information must resolve now. Education is meant a behaviour change and that is all it should be meant for.
