JAMMU, Oct 14: Marching high on the commitment to fight for the rights of youth of the State, ” Yuva Akrosh Yatra” a mass movement organized by Pradesh Youth Congress, covered Rajouri and Poonch districts on the third day today.
The Yatra was started from Lakhanpur on October 12, 2015 and have covered Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts so far.
The Yatra was received at Sunderbani, Nowshera, Kalakote and Gujjar Mandi Rajouri by hundreds of enthusiastic youth congress activists. The Yatra marched on foot through the town and organized a strong protest demonstration against the callous attitude of the present Government in addressing the issues related to the employment and welfare of the youth of the state. Shabir Ahmed Khan former Minister also joined the yatra and addressed the gathering in Rajouri and Choudhary Akram, MLA, received and addressed the Yatra in Surankote.
Dr Uma Shanker Pandey National secretary IYC, Pranav Shagotra president J&K PYC, Paramjit Singh general secretary, Charanjeet Singh LYC president addressed the Yatra.
The Yatra was coordinated by Chetan Wanchoo, Sandeep Singh, Aijaz Choudhary, Zaheer Abas, Shabir Kohli, Sahil Sharma, Showkat Ali, Afaq Mirza, Imran Dar, Amit Sayal, Mehrab Mirza, Avinash Chandan and Keshav Handa.
The gathering observed two minutes silence to pay tributes to the NYC activist Late Raj Kumar of Kishtwar, who laid down his life due to participation in the hunger strike for the implementation of previous Government’s order regarding the permanent jobs to NYCs. Later, the gathering protested among the high sloganeering against the BJP-PDP Government for the failure to address the issues of NYCs and Daily wagers in the state.
The yatra received a rousing reception at Manjkote, Bimber Gagli on the way to Poonch. In Surankote the Yatra was received by Choudhary Mohd Akram, MLA Surankote. He addressed the Yatra and asked the PYC activists to make their fight for the cause of youth more intensive. Later the Yatra reached Poonch in the evening. Choudhary Mohd Akram, MLA Surankote along with hundreds of supporters accompanied the yatra to Poonch, where an impressive march was taken out. A large number of people from various walks of life joined the yatra.
While addr4essing a large gathering, Dr Uma Shanker Pandey, National secretary, IYC lambasted the BJP-PDP Government for neglecting the problems of the youth of the State.
