JAMMU, Mar 8: J&K Pradesh Youth Congress activists held a protest demonstration outside the Press Club here and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing BJP of its double standards.
The protest was led by State PYC president Shahnawaz Choudhary. Protesting PYC leaders and activists shouted anti-BJP and anti-Modi slogans and alleged that BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu & Kashmir by giving support to PDP. They also condemned the anti-national statements of Mufti Mohd Sayeed in presence of Modi and also condemned the alleged silence of the Prime Minister on the matter. The PYC activists also burnt the effigy of Prime Minister.
Speaking on the occasion Shahnawaz Choudhary said that BJP has formed the coalition Government with the PDP and is silent on every action of the PDP. He further added that BJP has double standards at national level and towards the J&K State.
The PYC leader claimed that Mufti led Government has freed a separatist leader, who is a threat to the national security as he is not a political prisoner but a terrorist. The Youth Congress will never tolerate his release. If such anti-national, pro- Pakistan leaders are released, PYC will continue its protest.
“The Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, RSS besides MoS in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, who belong to Jammu region, should clarify their stand on the issue of PDP’s soft corner towards separatists and anti-nationals”, Shahnawaz added.
He further added that earlier also, on the day of his swearing -in ceremony as CM of the State, Mr Sayeed praised Hurriyat, militants & Pakistan in front of PM Modi, M M Joshi and L K Advani but BJP & particularly Modi stayed calm. He added that this silence of BJP is nothing but their lust for power even at the cost of the trust of people who voted them to power. He said if the BJP not opposes the matter, more such anti- nationals, criminals & terrorists will be released in the name of political prisoners by Mufti. He added that if the BJP does not give a clarification on it, Youth Congress will not stay calm. He added that BJP has sold the trust of the people who have voted for them in large number.
