SRINAGAR, Aug 13: Several Pradesh Youth Congress activists were detained when they were holding protest demonstration here today.
PYC leaders and workers in a bid to intensify their fight against wrong polices of Coalition Govt, held strong protest. Indian Youth Congress secretary Dr Uma Shanker Pandey, PYC president Pranav Shagotra and PYC general secretary Naseer Mir were leading. During protest several leaders including Pandey, Shagotra, Naseer, Abid, Naqeeb and others were detained.
Earlier, speaking on the occasion, Uma Shankar Panday said that despite of being in a process of been announced as one of the hundred smart cities across India, the flood victims of Sept 2014 are still not been rehabilitated. The affected people are yet to get compensated and they have lost all the hopes, faith and trust in the present coalition.
PYC chief while addressing said that numerous irregularities are happening in various Govt departments. Regularization issue of daily wagers, casual labours and need base workers, has not been addressed. Delaying tactics have become routine affair.
Naseer Mir said the prestigious institutes like IIT, IIM or AIIMS should be provided equally to both Jammu and Kashmir regions.
While marching towards Raj Bhavan, PYC leaders and workers were detained near Pratap Park and were put in Police Station Kothibagh, where PYC leaders forwarded a memorandum to the Governor.
