JAMMU, Feb 23: Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) activists staged protest here today against the Pulwama terror attack in which 44 CRPF personnel were martyred.
Led by Uday Bhanu Chib, State president, Pradesh Youth Congress, the activists assembled near Press Club of Jammu and raised slogans against Pakistan. Raising anti-Pakistan slogans, the protestors demanded action against Pakistan for “sponsoring terrorism in the Valley.”
“This is a terrible tragedy. This type of violence against our security forces is absolutely disgusting. The aim of terrorism is to divide this country and we are not going to be divided,” Chib added.
The Youth Congress activists strongly condemned Pakistan for carrying on the policy of sponsoring terrorism against India, harboring terrorists on her soil and using them against India. They urged upon the Government of India to take strict action against Pakistan to teach her a lesson. They also appealed to the youth of the nation in general and J&K in particular to maintain communal harmony at all costs to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy.
Chib criticized the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly detaining the youth of Jammu during protests against the Pulwama terror attack. He demanded release of these youth.
“Youth Congress stands in solidarity with the family of the martyrs and demands that the Indian Government takes stringent actions against forces spreading terrorism on Indian soil,” Chib said, adding “We stand united with our people in these tough times and will support every legitimate action taken against terrorism.”
Among those who joined the protest included- Pankaj Basotra, Sahil Sharma, Aijaz Choudhary- vice presidents, Chetan Wanchoo, Nimrandeep Singh, Ranjit Chopra, Ch Mudassir – general secretaries, Vishal Chopra & Sandeep Sharma (State Media incharge & spokespersons ), Devinder Singh Resyal, Briender Singh Bhatyal, Jagjot Singh, Hasan Mirza, Kamal Mangotra, Divyansh, Avijot Singh (Secretaries PYC), Sushil Bhagat, Romi Sharma, Vishu Sharma, Neeraj Choudhary (DYC presidents), Jagdeep Chahal, Sarweshwar Bali, Sumit Bhagat, Pradeep Chib and others.
