Pvt schools inspected

JAMMU, Apr 10: In order to address the complaints of parents regarding charging of high rates of fee, books, stationary and uniforms by the private schools, a team of officers of School Education Department and Legal Metrology Department today paid surprise visit to various private educational institutions in Jammu district.
The joint team, comprising of Joint Director School Education, Jammu, Mohammad Latif Choudhary; Manoj Parbhakar, Deputy Controller Legal Metrology Department Jammu; Pooja, Inspector Legal Metrology Department, Jammu and Swam Singh, DEPO Jammu, inspected records of Private schools and issued necessary instructions to the school managements.
The school managements were made aware about the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir School Education Act 2002, rules notified vide SRO 123 and directions of High Court & Fee Fixation Committee. During the visit, DRS Kids Trikuta Nagar and Heritage School Sainik Colony, Jammu, were also visited.
The private schools have also been enjoined upon to submit their fee structure as it stood in August 2014 and present structure as well and no head for fee should be added without the approval of Jammu & Kashmir Fee Fixation Committee (JKFFC).
