Purmandal zone sweeps volleyball titles

SAMBA, May 15: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the summit clashes, Purmandal zone swept volleyball titles in the District Level Inter-Zonal Under-14 and Under-16 Boys and Girls Volleyball Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, which concluded at Government Higher Secondary School, here today.
The Tournament was held under the overall supervision of Jarpal Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Samba.
In volleyball Under-14 boys final, Purmandal defeated Samba by (2-0) sets to win the title, while in Under-17 boys summit clash, Purmandal got better of Samba by (3-0) sets.
Volleyball Under-17 girls title also went to Purmandal zone, defeating Vijaypur zone by (2-0) sets.
Meanwhile, in kabaddi Under-14 boys final, Purmandal got better of Ramgarh by 11 points, while in kabaddi Under-17 boys, Ramgarh prevailed over Purmandal by 22 points.
In kho-kho Under-14 boys, Samba defeated Vijaypur by 2 points, while in kho-kho Under-17 boys, Samba thrashed Vijaypur by one innings and 2 points.
In kho-kho Under-14 girls, Samba outplayed Ghagwal by 12 points, while in kho-kho Under-17 girls, Samba scripted a narrow win over Ghagwal by 2 points to win the trophy.
Kabaddi Under-14 girls title went to Samba zone by defeating Ghagwal by 12 points, while in kabaddi Under-17 girls, Purmandal outclassed Ramgarh by 4 points to claim the title trophy.
