JAMMU, Aug 31: The pilgrimage centre of Purmandal is under total darkness due to breakdown of the transformer in the area over last four days.
The residential area including the temple complex in Purmandal have plunged into darkeness for last five days after the local transformer developed a snag said Raju Bharti a local resident and social activist of the area.
He said that even there is no power supply in famous Shiv temple at this pilgrimage centre where large number of devotees visit daily. He said the PDD authorities have failed to restore the power supply in the area despite repeated pleas. He said the authorities when approached said that there was no transformer available with the store and it will take four to five days more in replacing the transformer.
The people of the area in general and members of the Shrine Management in particular have urged the authorities to install new transformer in the are by tomorrow failing which the people will come to streets.
