Srinagar, Mar 7: Siraj-udin Punjabi, former Director Estates and Administrator Srinagar Municipality today died at the age of 80, after a brief illness at his residence in Hawal Chowk Srinagar.
Punjabi is the father of Rouf Ahmed Punjabi, former president of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
Thousands of people attended his last rites at Hawal this evening. His Rasme Chaharm will be held on Saturday at 10: 30 at his ancestral graveyard peer Haji Mohammad in Saraf Kadal Srinagar.
