Punjab resident among 3 arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Oct 5: Gangyal police arrested three persons including a Punjab resident along with 500 grams of heroin.
As per police sources, a team from Gangyal Police Station during patrolling in Industrial area signaled a car bearing registration number JK02AM-9729 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the car.
During checking, police team recovered 500 grams heroin from the possession of the three persons traveling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Balwan Singh, son of Parkash Singh of Jourian, Tehsil Akhnoor, Devinder Pal Singh, son of Surinder Singh, a resident of Bandu Rakh Kunjwani and Subash Chander, son of Mohan Lal, a resident of Pathankote, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 107/19 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
