PULWAMA, Aug 11: The Pulwama Premier League, organized by the Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), concluded on a high note with an electrifying final match between Team Qasbayar and Team Talangam. Played amidst an enthusiastic crowd, the final saw intense competition, with Team Qasbayar clinching victory and lifting the coveted trophy.
The tournament featured 64 teams from across the region and was held on four different grounds, showcasing the immense cricketing talent and fostering a spirit of unity and sportsmanship among local youth.
The grand closing ceremony was attended by Brigadier RS Bullar, Commander 12 Sector RR, Col. Deven Sood, Commanding Officer 55 RR, SSP Pulwama PD Nitiya and other dignitaries. Their encouraging speeches boosted the morale of the players and inspired all attendees to continue striving for excellence.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, local artists performed energetic musical numbers, with spectators cheering passionately throughout the event. Social activist Musadiq Riyaz commended the Indian Army for this initiative and urged for its continuation, highlighting its positive role in promoting youth engagement and combating drug abuse in the region.
